Look around the inside of the Saint Peter and Paul cathedral in Rome and the title question becomes evident. How could all of this be based on something false. Is religion therefore based on nothing in existence?  What about the awe-inspiring cathedrals, the bells announcing the Angelus, the priests, bishops, cardinals and the pope… how could it all be wrong?

Religion explains Dr John Ridpath, is a set of mystical views about the supernatural origins of, workings of, and purposes of reality, and what this implies about the living of life. Some people claim: “Religion is false”. “It is false on the grandest scale imaginable and it has destroyed on the grandest scale imaginable and it cannot deny that because it is first of all against the basis of life which is reason for the purpose of destroying the goal of life which is to be happy here and now. Religion he says is in fundamental opposition to human life. Is he correct? Is this all false?
