Being the descendent of a murderer doesn’t make one guilty of murderer.
Being a descendent of a slave does not make one a slave.
In America, slavery was illegal right from the start with The Declaration of Independence. Before the Declaration there was no nation called America.
The Declaration of Independence proclaimed the American colonies were separating from British rule. On July 4, 1776, Congress voted to accept the Declaration. While it did not specfically address slavery, neither did it address murder yet both were illegal when America began.
A principle of humanity is: No one can be punished for the sins or the crimes of someone else. Unless someone held slaves they cannot be punished for slavery. Unless someone was a slave they cannot claim payment for their slavery.
