The idea that Idris Elba can play James Bond is a perfect combination, at least for America. How it would play in England of Europe is a completely different story. Americans are long past the point of no return about black people being in previously all-white places. Europe not so much. Europeans are nationalists first, not Europeans, not like Americans.
