If a rich person has to pay more for something because of a tax increase the solution is rather straightforward. Pass the higher costs on to someone else.
When Ocasio-Cortez increases the taxes on rich people she is unwittingly increasing the costs of the poor too. Take a car. Increase the tax on a car. The selling price of the car is increased to include the new tax. the person who buys the car pays the higher price so the manufacturer can pay the tax to the government. The buyer pays the tax to the manufacturer and the manufacturer passes the money along to pay the tax. the buyer pays even though it’s made to appear that the seller paid.
