AI is extremely useful for many reasons.
“Art” is a distinctively human institution because it fulfills a vital human need. Art can and should be judged. The artist presents art based on his.her conclusions. Aesthetic issues can be and should be analyzed objectively that is according to a set of criteria.
GAN and the art it produces can be enjoyable. The artists are the programmers who wrote the code to use neural networks to generate shapes and colors. At bottom it’s the programmers who are the artists. Good for them.
