The First Amendment of the American Constitution reads in relevant part: “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech”. Does that mean you have to listen to idiots tell you stupid nonsense? Of course not. Just because Congress is forbidden from making a law to stop people from speaking does not mean you can’t do it on your own.
For example, you can tell people to leave your house when they want to tell you something you don’t want to hear. You can tell people to “shut up” and no one can stop you. Not unless they threaten to hurt you if you don’t shut up. As Mike Tyson said: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” Mike knows how to get people to shut up.
