Some people just can’t understand the idea that it takes a bad guy to commit murder. Jesse jackson for example marched against the murders with the people who were family of those murdered but he blamed it on “guns”.
No gun ever fired itself so no gun every murdered anyone. A gun needs a guy to pull the trigger. It’s the trigger puller not the trigger who commits violence and murder. It’s like blaming spoons for making people fat.

Unfortunately Chicago was the location of 762 murders in 2016. Every one could have been prevented if someone didn’t murder someone else. If Chicago had collected 762 guns on New Year’s Day 2016 it wouldn’t have stopped the murderers who murdered 762 people.

A psychiatrist, David Kyle Johnson Ph.D. wrote an article for Psychology Today where he explained that a person is the ultimate cause of a murder. he listed something called Intermediate causes that include a finger pulling a trigger on a gun and Proximate causes of murder which would be the thing connected to the trigger, i.e., a gun. He thinks that settled the question that gun is the cause of the murder but he forgot or tried to be tricky and called the idea that guns don’t murder people, people do the “mistaken relevance of proximate causation”. He forgot the ultimate and the intermediate causes that are the reason as murderer would be punished for murder, not the gun.

In fact in the entire history of the human race since the invention of gunpowder, first mentioned in a Chinese book in the year 192 AD, no gun has ever been found guilty of murder. Not one. So Ph.D. Johnson, consider that before trying to discredit the NRA for pointing out what you just proved. Guns don’t murder people.
