They believe and support the idea: “Sinners Must Pay” so a pregnant woman must be punished by being forced to remain pregnant then be forced to raise the child. In legal terms that’s 21 years to life. According to the Religious Right and the anti-choice movement that’s the proper and correct punishment for pregnancy. That’s ridiculous.
Collins again: “……… it’s easy to understand why abortion opponents have shown virtually no interest in working to make contraceptives and family planning universally available. It’s the sex, at bottom, that they oppose, and the politicians they support feel no pressure — or even any freedom — to try to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies through anything but high school abstinence lectures. Contraception may not be illegal, but it’s certainly not something you want to treat with respect.”
That’s the Trump Quagmire. Murder is illegal. So is conspiracy to commit it. If abortion is made a crime; if abortion is made illegal, –and it should not be,— then of course the pregnant woman is guilty of conspiracy to commit murder. There’s no second choice. That shows some of the wrongness associated with the anti-abortion arguments.
