Trump has unified the Tea Party and the Republican party with his strong, bold anti-Establishment stand, his border closing, his wall and his strong support for the Second Amendment. Even though the Tea Parties say they don’t endorse candidates, the rank and file do and they endorse Trump. The Tea Parties never gave up on Sarah Palin and she supports Trump. Marco Rubio’s message: “I’m the only one who can unify the party” is now a dead letter. The GOP voters and the Tea Party voters are unified behind Trump. The extreme Right Wing of the GOP and the Tea Party Leaders are still supporting Cruz who has all but self-exploded. Marco don’t get it yet either but the Tea Party voters and the Republican voters do. they are going for Trump.
Professor Helmut Norpoth of Stony Brook University, on Long Island, NY predicts Trump has a 97 percent chance of beating Hillary Clinton and a 99 percent chance of beating Bernie Sanders. In a way the Tea Party is a victim of it’s success with a candidate who supports what they want.
What about the idea that the Tea Party is dead? At the very least it’s a bit premature. Also, no Republican in power is willing to speak ill of the Tea Parties. Trump however rolled right past the Tea Parties when they realized they and he want the same thing. There’s nothing to unify. It’s already happened. Marco didn’t figure it out yet.
