The design is awful. The “Wash Tub” is stainless steel and supposedly “Guaranteed for life” but it’s connected to the motor with a cast junk-metal “Spider”. The Spider disintegrates and ruins the plastic “Outer Tub”. The repair from Sears is higher than buying a new machine.
The Stainless “Wash Tub” is only supported on one end. The Wash Tub with all of the wet clothes hangs out from the bearings like a diving board that’s only held at the back. The design is a stress testing machine, like bending a paperclip back and forth until it breaks. Every time the Wash Tub turns the Spider holding the tub with the wet clothes flexes one way then the other, -like one back and forth movement of a paper clip with one big additional problem. The wash water disintegrates the metal spider.
The clothes stink after they’re washed because the design doesn’t allow the water inside to dry out. Mold, mildew and stinky water remain in the washer even when the door is kept open after using the washer. Even though less water is used which saves the planet you will have clothes with stink built into them. Using the liquid fabric softener doesn’t work well in front loaders because it’s beaten out of the clothes while they are being washed and rinsed. Those perfumed dryer sheets contain some very harmful ingredients include benzyl acetate (pancreatic cancer), benzyl alcohol (respiratory tract irritant), ethanol (central nervous system disorders), limonene (a known carcinogen) and chloroform (a neurotoxin and carcinogen), –among others.
Don’t ever buy a front load washer. Your clothes will stink, and it will break and cost more to repair than buying a top loading washer.
