they opened the doors to more research and production of rare earth minerals and chemicals in which they have a near controlling interest at the moment. That control is going to change against China. China just woke-up the rest of the world and that will lead to more availability of the products in which China has a current advantage.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said China “made a real mistake” by threatening to restrict exports of rare earth minerals, adding that Beijing’s move has jolted the United States and its allies to fast-track efforts to secure new sources within the next two years.
“China has alerted everyone to the danger. They’ve made a real mistake,” he told the newspaper.
“It’s one thing to put the gun on the table. It’s another thing to fire shots in the air.”
China also controls the rate of exchange of it’s currency. American dollars float in response to worldwide demand for U.S. dollars. China controls the float of their currency. It’s called a dirty float because it’s not free like America’s. In a word, China cheats. China follows China rules. Trump knew that or he should have known it and if he didn’t know it it’s the fault of his expert advisors.
