The Islamic religion seems to ignore the cost of religion in peoples lives. Most people do. The Catholics don’t come right out and say “we want the money” but they don’t want the money to go to waste so they collect it themselves. They don’t say that. Instead they say it’s for the poor.
King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, Catholics, sponsored Columbus’s travel to the new world to get the mineral and metal wealth and send it home on their ships. History itself can often be reduced to a search for wealth. Kings wanted power to collect the wealth. Baron Rothchild wrote: Let me control the money and I’ll control the nation. The American Revolution was about money too; the tax on tea started the actual revolt.
The Communist revolution a hundred years ago this year was about money too. The leaders wanted to seize it and redistribute it. What about ISIS? Are they after money after all? All the soldiers are to be paid between $350 and $500 a month (3 to 5 times the average salary) but the biggest and most regular source of revenue for Daesh comes from the oil fields that generate between about $1.6m a day. This is huge since Iraq is the second producer of oil in the world after Saudi Arabia.
