Two competing views of existence are: Mysticism; upon which every religion is based and Reality; upon which Science is based. The are not in competition. They are not opposites. They are not opposed to each other because only one exists. Nothing that exists can be in conflict with that which does not exist yet there is a war on between Science and Religion.. Why?…. Simple.. Somehow religion got it into it’s head that the world of science with it’s discoveries and conclusions eliminates the need or use of religion. That’s so because religion came first. Science began when the existence of the universe came into the perview of thought. Thinking caused the delimma. A drawing of the effect was published as: “The American Ganges”, a drawing… Note that well: A DRAWING! The drawing depicts Catholic Bishops as crocodiles with their mitres, the hats they wear during their rituals full of teeth. (You can buy a mitre for about $20 on the internet.)The bishops as crocodiles are coming out of the water and going after children. Remember: THIS IS A DRAWING! It is not real life yet is caused a major commotion including actual riots in the streets as those offended were driven to a fury by the drawing. Why? Because of the power of religion. Why does religion have such power? Because it is seen as the basis for truth. So the problem for religion is whenever it is attacked some will believe it is an attack on truth and since truth is necessary for survival an attack on religion is seen as a possible fatal consequence to the person attacked. But remember… The attacks are not actual attacks.. NO! They are seen as attacks. See the difference? An actual attack is a physical event. A perceived attack is a perception. Perceptions do not exist in reality. erceptions exist in a percon’s mind. They are seen as real even though the reality is only in the mind. No one is hurt by an image in someone’s mind. People are hurt by actions. People are not hurt by perceptions yet perceptions lead to warfare. Perceptions lead to battles. Battles lead to death. This is an unfortunate consequence of one element of human nature. The ability to accept ideas as events. When a mistake is made in perception there is no way to predict the outcome.
