Who would think the question should be asked? Doesn’t everyone have intelligence? Yes but some people have far more than others. Intelligence or IQ is measured by testing. Intelligence refers to intellectual functioning. Human intelligence ranges from a low of perhaps 60 to a high of 228. People with higher IQ scores think much faster than people with lower scores. Higher IQ people get things much, much faster and easier. They get things that are virtually impossible for lower IQ’s to get. they have larger memories. They can easily recall things compared to those who cannot remember some things at all. Gardner described seven distinct types of intelligence—logical-mathematical, linguistic, spatial, musical, kinesthetic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal but all of them are higher when “G”, the measure of IQ is higher. So there is only one Intelligence for each person. Their intellectual abilities in some areas have not developed as much as their intellectual abilities in other areas but people with higher IQ’s have the innate ability to excel in all of them. But be careful. Your search for people with high IQ’s will overlook a lot of wonderful people whose IQ may not be so high who will be good and faithful friends, great nurturers, and a constant source of comfort.
