The story with photo’s is HERE. James Lambert, lived for 73 years but he was beaten to death for kicks by seven teens. The group of teens, four black males and three black females were recorded laughing during the repeated assaults and batteries. The seven are being sought by the police.
A reward of $20,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. It’s not clear if it’s $20,000 for one of the perps or for all seven. But $20,000 is a lot of money and there’s at least one video of the attack.
What a set of crimes committed by teenagers in the former City of Brotherly Love. Our hearts are broken for James Lambert and for the savage brutality exhibited by seven young people.
Why didn’t James Lambert have a gun to defend himself? Because Philadelphia has extremely oppressive laws and procedures to prevent people from obtaining and carrying a gun. Plus a gun usually only has six bullets so being attacked by seven people may have been part of a plan the at least one attacker would survive and finish the job. OTOH, a shot or two would probably have changed the minds of the other and they would have run off. We don’t know. We don’t know why he was attacked except most people would say these were violent people who had to take out their aggression on someone and a 73 year old man is a good target because he’s alone and frail, not able to hit back. Certainly if he had a gun and was able to use it he would most likely be alive today. There’s no way to tell but perhaps a gun would have saved his life. It’s a great reason to avoid Philadelphia or to be armed if you have to go there.
