Technically, it’s the guy holding the gun, not the gun that’s violent. So the answer to a bad guy, (it’s usually a guy) with a gun is a good guy or gal with a gun. The horrible result of a government policy to dis-arm the people, a disarming that violates our Right To Carry a Gun, is the increased number of murders, assaults, robberies and rapes by bad guys with a gun.
The solution, .. the answer to the bad guys with guns,…. is good people with guns who can shoot back. Usually a bad guy with a gun will run from a victim who shows a gun. Criminals are usually cowards who need a gun to increase their courage. Being cowards in the first place, they will quickly leave when they know there are people with guns who can come after him and hurt
