A small recording video camera is unobtrusive. Teachers know how great they are as teachers so they would be expected to demand cameras in every classroom every day.
It’s a win-win. At contract time teachers can use the video evidence to show how they outperform expectations. One bottleneck is who will review the videos? To be fair to the teachers it should be someone objective who can identify the great teaching that’s going on. A video camera is better than having observers in the classrooms because that distracts the teachers. Teachers want to show their competence. Cameras are the ideal solution. Union representatives can demand lower salaries for poor teachers so the community gets a fair deal.
