Four years at Penn would cost over $250,000 but the teachers and medical people went to Franklin Field and knelt in support of the deceased criminal George Floyd. All that money and they got it wrong. No wonder. Penn is expensive and composed of Liberals..
Tuition and fees alone are over $56,000 per year. Add in books, meals, activities and a some soda and peanuts each week get’s you over $250,000 for two semesters a year for four years. Two years of grad school would cost another $120,000. and a PhD would add another $60,000. $413,000 to get a PhD. at Penn. Is it worth it? Yes.. Well, probably yes but there are a lot of buts to consider. Where can you use a PhD? Most businesses don’t need that level of ability so it’s not worth going to Penn especially compared to other less expensive colleges to get a PhD.
On the other hand, if you go to Penn you will enjoy a much better life than most people. That’s partly because of Penn, partly because of your parents and mostly because you are the type of person who will have a better, more enjoyable life whether or not you go to Penn because your life depends mostly on you. You can be very, very happy with loads of money but you can be very, very happy with a lot less than a load of money. Why is that? Because there’s more to life than money and education. Given the choice, take the money and the education but if something else presents itself you may be better advised to take, for example, a great wife or a great husband and the great family that will follow from that. Nature causes people to fall in love to have a family. Given the choice, and it’s never given because nature gives nothing. Giving and receiving are elements of human life, not gifts from nature. If you are destined to life alone you better try to get away from everywhere because it can’t be done. There’s always someone. There’s always somewhere. There’s always someone and there you are. Penn is almost impossibly expensive for most people but a great life is there for everyone. The problem is that’s not the message you get. You get the message that you need Penn. You don’t but if Penn is in your future go for it. If not, just settle back and enjoy your life. That’s better than Penn.
