John helped get equal treatment for black people. He deserves his own brand new memorial, not some old, re-hashed and re-named bridge. A John Lewis Memorial needs to represent John himself. It belongs in Washington DC, not in Selma, Alabama which in the final analysis is just a stop along the way for the civil rights struggles. Build John Lewis a proper memorial. Make certain to show John was not a big man physically but, more importantly he was a big force for good in America. His memorial needs to represent him and what’s great about America because neither would be the same without the other.
