How perfectly silly it looked, oversize garish purple lapels on a Roger Rabbit outfit. Purple is the color deployed by priests for funerals to maintain a solemnity and sorrow appropriate to the deceased. It’s also associated with Lent, a period of sacrifice and with royalty. It looked really kooky on Hillary’s lapels, like it was part of the Purple People Eater Skit. Remember the 1958 novelty song: It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin’ purple people eater by Sheb Wolley?
