What a scurrilous thought to have. Jones said: “there’s another reality here, that you’re starting to see: so, even the most liberal, well-intentioned white person has a virus in his or her brain that can be activated at an instant.” Massively wrong.. People are different. The differences extend to race. There are different races of people that have common physiological characteristics and the characteristics are different for people of different races but no one has a brain virus at birth for or against people of different races. If that was so or possible Van Jones would have had a virus in his brain..
Van Jones continued: “And so, what you’re seeing now is a curtain falling away. Look in the mirror at how you choke off black opportunity, how you choke off black dignity, how you behave.”
“People are now fed up; people are telling me they’re tired of hashtags–it’s not the racist white person who’s in the Ku Klux Klan that we have to worry about.”
“And James Baldwin said it best: ‘white people in these situations are always innocent–‘oh my God, I can’t believe this; teach me, educate me, help me understand, like, how did this happen? Talk to me, tell me something, tell me what to do.”
Baldwin added: “white people are always innocent, and their innocence constitutes their crime. It is too late to be innocent.” “Van”,.. his actual name is Anthony Kapel Jones, is a racial activist who graduated from college and YALE Law without honors meaning his marks were average, sufficient for graduation but not for being an exceptional student. Jones is not a proponent of “Innocent Until Proven Guilty..” rather he supports “punishment first, trial afterwards’ as in Alice in Wonderland which describes the Van Jones Universe.
