This very, very off-putting teenager thinks stole her dreams and her childhood. Greta also, mistakenly, thinks weather causes people to suffer and die. What about the inventions like fire, the wheel, a roof, walls, heaters, air-conditioners that improve and prolong life itself? And let’s not forget swimming costumes, coats and shoes which take energy to make. In Greta’s false calculus nothing counts except trouble and she has been part of that for quite awhile.
Greta, a little angry bird will come to realize she has been lied to. All of the great inventions of the past that for example provided her with a fantastic sailboat as well as clothes to protect her from the frigid North Atlantic climate are why she is able to waste her time by skipping school, traveling about and flapping her gums in support of what many adults know which is inventions and the use of energy have propelled humans far into space. Instead of yelping about the weather she should get back to school and study something useful. Maybe then her life will get some meaning based on firm information instead of the fairy tales told to her by mixed-up adults.
But the sailboat on which she begged a free ride couldn’t make it to Sweden. Instead it landed at Lisbon… Lisbon… 3,000 kilometers in the wrong direction because instead of getting a cheap flight the little angry bird used a sailboat, … Like her Viking ancestors had to do because the diesel engine hadn’t been invented… hadn’t even been thought of.
