In a massive governmental failure to understand Liberty two Senatorswrote and are distributing a paper titled:  Toomey and Coons, Call for Bipartisan Action to Improve Gun Safety Laws. In it they exhibit a special contempt for voters who have a natural right to protect and defend themselves. The science of human relations shows repeatedly that “More Guns Mean Less Crime” which is the title of a book by John Lott yet Senators Toomey and Coons refuse to properly study the gun issue in America from a constitutional and human rights position. They are trying to lessen the number of people who have guns, which means they are in favor of disarming people. They would better serve America by making it far easier for Americans to get guns.

They begin their letter with a short circuit about guns. “The only way to make necessary progress on improving the nation’s gun safety laws is through bipartisan action. Strengthening our firearm background check system is an area where this is possible. In addition to expanding the scope of background checks”.

That’s simply wrong. The gun safety laws are very clear.  The Preamble to the Constitution cotains the objective of the government to “secure the Blessings of Liberty” It is strange the Tooney and Coons believe something as unconstitutional as “making progress on improving gun safety” is part of their responsibility as senators. That’s what the dictators have wanted to do all over history. In America the right to obtain a gun was and continues to be part of being American. It one has no way to protect their rights one doesn’t have those rights. A gun is needed for personal protection and to protect one’s family, friends and neighbors from those who wish no good thing towards them.

While it is admittedly rather futile to believe armed people are a match for the massive physical power of the government it is nevertheless within an individuals panoply of rights and protections to attempt such protection. A gun is so fundamental to the very idea of individual rights that it shouldn’t be necessary to explain it to two senators yet here it is. The two senators are simply two bullcrap artists over guns.
