A shooter, not a gun shot and killed a 14 year old football player in Philadelphia. A gun cannot shoot itself. Guns are not violent even though a gunshot seems violent. No gunshot is violent. Violent behavior requires a person.
Some of the teens that were participating in the football scrimmage are students at Boys Latin Charter School.
Some schools can talk as shown by this comment in the news report of the shooting. “The school in West Philadelphia says it is devastated by the incident.”
Boys Latin is a high school in Philadelphia’s Roxborough neighborhood. Boys in the hood and boys who attend Boys Latin School have been deeply impacted by boys who use guns to shoot at, hurt and kill other boys yet the report denies that boys are involved when is reported the killing as gun violence. To repeat. People can be violent but guns cannot. Blaming guns puts the people in danger since they will be looking for a gun to become violent instead of looking for boys who will become violent.
Since 2016, six Boys Latin students have been killed in shooting incidents.
