Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack told CBS News his company destroyed $5 million worth of “assault-style rifles” to keep them out of private hands. What he did was violate the Right To Be Armed by destroying private arms. His idea disrespects the people and is against the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms which is in the Premble of the American Constitution which states Americans are expected to provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty.
In addition Dicks violates The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution which reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The commerce clause provides the way that people can arm themselves which is by engaging in commerce among the several states. Dicks opposes that when it comes to arms that are protected by the Right of the People to be armed. Dicks is against both the Constitution and the people who have the capability to keep and bear arms.
