Looks like it’s in the genes. Just like Masculinity or Feminity is not a choice, neither is being LGBT. Individuals are born either female or male but their final gender is more complicated. No, it doesn’t depend on the environment or the parents. No, it isn’t usually noticable until puberty or somewhere close to it but for certain, when it appears it’s certain. 
No, not every L or G or B or T is identical, just as every female isn’t an identical female. There are extremenely feminine women and hardly feminine women so it’s no surprise that there are extremenly lesbian lesbians and hardly lesbian lesbians. What causes Lesbianism? No one seems to know for certain. What is certain is that lesbians are lesbians. No need to get hung up over it, it simply is.
Peoples sexual attributes change as they mature. Infants seem almost identical. Adults are not.
