Teachers are forbidden from teaching more than five classes per day.

So, … five 45 minute classes equals 3.75 hours per day actually teaching.

Five days a week is 18 hours, 45 minutes a week actually teaching.

Ten months a year is 806 hours and 15 minutes a year actually teaching. For reference the average person works 40 hours a week for 50 weeks a year which is 2,000 hours a year.

The hourly rate paid for teaching is the annual salary divided by 806.25 hours a year.

For Lower Merion that’s $99,253 divided by 806.25 which is $123.10 an hour. For Council Rock that’s $119.21 per teaching hour. For Neshaminy it’s $112.26
