The disgraceful, disgusting ruling by federal judge Timothy J. Kelly against the Trump Administration was incredibly wrongheaded, constitutionally and legally wrong. Where does the judge get the idea that the White House is under his control? CNN can be grateful for the wrong ruling and grateful as hell that the Trump Administration isn’t taking the case any further. Trump is going to admit obnoxious Acosta but we hope and advise the president to come down hard against Acosta, CNN and the entire FAKE NEWS business.
The conduct of a handful of so-called reporters during President Trump’s news conference has been disgraceful beyond measure. This is not journalism, this is hostile, political journalism at it’s worst.
Jim Acosta of CNN is a paid agitator, an instigator working for money. Acosta doesn’t ask questions — he makes accusations, he makes argumentative statements. He does it as often as possible. He does it with the press secretary and on Wednesday, he did it with the president.
“I want to challenge you,” Acosta began after Trump called on him. Trump realized he’d made a mistake, murmuring, “Here we go,”. Acosta broke the rules again.
Acosta insisted that despite the president’s use of the word “invasion,” the caravan of Central American migrants “is not an invasion.” That’s an accusation, not a question.
Acosta adopted a lecturing, I-know-best tone to declare that “they’re hundreds and hundreds of miles away; that’s not an invasion.”
Trump’s response should not have been necessary: “Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN.”
After more back-and-forth, he called Acosta “a rude, terrible person” and said “CNN should be ashamed of itself.” Good for the president. That should have been enough — Acosta got the attention he wanted and got Trump’s goat, giving his network video it could make hay out of for days. Besides, there were scores of other reporters raising their hands to be called on.
But Acosta wouldn’t give up the microphone and kept talking over Trump, trying to lob another grenade.
The president, clearly angry now and stepping away from the podium as if he might bolt the room, pointed at him and said forcefully, “That’s enough, that’s enough. Put down the mic.”
Finally, Acosta sat down, then stood up to argue again, interrupting another reporter. That reporter, from NBC, praised Acosta and picked up the baton by making his own accusation disguised as a question. He mentioned Trump’s attacks on Democrats and “asked” the president: Why are “you are pitting Americans against one another?”
Trump, to his credit, actually answered in a substantive way, but that didn’t satisfy because the reporter didn’t really ask a question. He too just wanted to make an accusation and argue. On camera.
There was a time not long ago when young journalists were taught not to become the story. Apparently, many news organizations have flipped that lesson on its head.
But we are witnessing something more insidious here than media trash talk. Plain and simple, we are watching expressions of personal hatred against the president of the United States. This must be stopped because it’s wrong.
Yes, it’s true that most journalists lean far left and their bias sticks out like so many sore thumbs. That’s been true for a long time, but political bias is an insufficient explanation for the Jim Acostas of our time.
They hate Trump. They really, really hate him. There’s nothing professional about it.
They are not alone. Take a poll of almost any major newsroom in America and the vast majority of those working there, if they are being honest, will confess that they too can’t stand the existence or the sound of Trump.
Or try to imagine Acosta and his ilk behaving in similarly hostile fashion toward Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. Keep trying, but you can’t imagine it because it never happened. Both of those pols lied to journalists repeatedly, yet you can bet 90 percent still voted straight Democratic.
Even if they didn’t like Obama or Clinton, the political reporters would never dare accuse them publicly of anything, argue with them or interrupt them. Even when skeptical, they were respectful.
Recall how Obama used to spend 10, 15 and even 20 minutes answering a single question — without interruption.
A few in the press corps may have found Obama overbearingly arrogant. They may have resented the way he looked down on them and bristled at critical stories or tough questions. They knew he started more leak investigations than any other president, and might have feared him because his Justice Department wiretapped a Fox News reporter during a leak case.
But they would never interrupt him or insult him or refuse to give up the microphone.
White House press credentials are not a universal right. There are implicit expectations of proper behavior, and the White House decision to suspend Acosta’s credential is warranted.
Just as Acosta can’t go into a movie theater and yell “Fire” when there is no fire, he should not have the right to hijack a presidential press conference to suit his own agenda.
It is also long past time for his colleagues, including those from other outlets, to remind him that his shameful conduct is making all of them look bad. More important, scenes like Wednesday’s further erode the public’s declining trust of the media.
The anti-Trump antics are no longer a sideshow. America has serious problems as well as dangerous enemies.
CNN’s Jim Acosta was heckled while covering a campaign rally with President Donald Trump for incumbent South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster. the crowd shouted to him: “Go Home Jim.”
In August the Canada Free Press reported:
If CNN’s Jim Acosta isn’t attacking the President, he’s attacking the President’s Press Secretary. At the daily press briefing Thursday, Acosta was nipping at Sarah Sanders’ heels like a junk yard Chihuahua; Yap, Yap, Yap! Mrs. Sanders said, CNN and other media are waging personal attacks against President Trump and members of his administration. Mrs. Sanders went on to say that journalists are complaining about the President calling them “the enemy of the people,” but they won’t accept responsibility for leveling attacks against administration officials and the President.
Acosta’s phony accusations, badgering and disrespectful disposition
She told Acosta, “It’s ironic, Jim, that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric, when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country. Repeatedly, repeatedly, the media resorts to personal attacks without any content other than to incite anger.” The confrontation ended when Acosta walked out of the briefing with his panties in a wad. After walking out, Acosta tweeted: “Mrs. Sanders‘ performance was “shameful.”
If anything is shameful, it’s Acosta’s phony accusations, badgering and disrespectful disposition. He recently complained, after being heckled at the Trump Rally in Tampa, that Trump supporters have no respect for journalists. After being drowned out by the crowd chanting, CNN sucks, Acosta tweeted: “Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in the conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy.”
Acosta doesn’t seem to be worried about the hostility he whips up daily, and he certainly wasn’t worried about the hostility whipped up by Maxine Waters and others on the Liberal side. Acosta also whines about not getting respect, but he never shows respect. He hasn’t shown respect for the President or his supporters. So why does Acosta expect us to respect him when he doesn’t deserve our respect? He has no credibility.
Evidently, Acosta never learned the lesson that you have to show respect to get respect. Acosta thinks he can be rude and arrogantly disrespectful to the President, his administration officials and his supporters, and we have to lick his boots because he’s a journalist. A journalist does not have the right to falsely accuse, harass, demean, badger or smear others they disagree with. Maybe Acosta doesn’t know that a true journalist reports facts not phony political propaganda, like he does.
CNN is a subversive organization, and their goal is to overthrow our duly elected President
People like Jim Acosta, Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, Don Lemon and all the other political propagandists, who rant and rave on the mainstream media, are not journalists. They are false propagandists with a subversive agenda and they are on a mission to destroy a Republican president.
In plain language, they are the manure spreaders of fake news. They incite their un-informed followers to violence by feeding them a steady diet of horse manure, but whine and complain when they are given a dose of their own medicine. Maybe they believe what they are saying, but that just proves how conniving, uninformed and ignorant they really are.
CNN may be the most disrespectful and hated fake news, but they are more than just fake news. CNN is a subversive organization, and their goal is to overthrow our duly elected President. They incite and support anger and violence against the President, his administration and his supporters. They are seditious propagandists, and they should be called the enemy of the people because they are. If they weren’t enemies of the people, they would not be relentlessly attacking the President, members of his administration and his supporters relentlessly. They wouldn’t be trying to tear the country apart if they were not enemies of the people.
Finally, our advice to whining, complaining liberals like Acosta is to show some respect for others, start telling the truth, and find some integrity. If they can’t do those things, they should start looking for another job. We know a man who needs an experienced mucker to clean out some horse stalls. Acosta and his comrades throw out so much manure so fast that I’m sure they are a perfect fit for the job. Maybe they missed their true calling.
America should not, must not and cannot be run by rule breakers like CNN or Acosta.
