Families are supposed to take care of their own. That’s not even a rule to live by, it’s the way most people act because families are full of people who love each other. The love of parents for their children knows almost no bounds. Parents will move heaven and earth for their children, often in what would appear to an outsider to be a relatively un-important issue. That’s why it’s a surprise to encounter a family in Northampton Township which actually attempts to physically hurt one of the five brothers. An auntie and her husband, the uncle who have to be two of the most unfeeling of people evicted their nephew for non-payment of rent. If that sounds straight forward, consider that the nephew attempted to give the back-rent to his auntie and uncle who refused it; told the nephew to come back tomorrow after 10:00 AM for a receipt and had the locks changed at 9:30 AM. The nephew called the police to protect him while he packed some of his belongings into plastic garbage bags and carried them up to the road but off of the auntie and uncles property. A friendly farmer-neighbor gave him permission to store his belongings on the farm. Another friend bought him a small tent in which to spend the cold night. A divorced brother with obvious alcohol, dental and mental issues who must be a friend of or at least know Satan personally changed the locks and even bolted the bedroom door shut. He tormented his wife, fought with his son and now lives alone with his cases of beer in a trailer owned by auntie and uncle.
There are sick people in the world who lack the basic human ability to love. Few and far between they are unusual for their lack of the sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or mis-fortunes of others. They are missing the simple human benevolence, the mercy, the tenderness and warm-heartedness that most people have even towards strangers. these people are missing those attributes in large measure.
