The decidedly un-intellectual senior singer penned a scathing new essay for The Huffington Post titled “Clueless, Reckless, Graceless, Mindless and Heartless: Our President Elect,” in which she writes: Trump makes her “deeply concerned” for the nation and the world.
“He has demonstrated he is both dangerous and unfit for office,” she says after listing previous notable commanders in chief who achieved great things. “Does he understand the magnitude of the job? Did he just run for president to get even with President Obama who once made jokes about him at a White House Correspondents’ Dinner? Does he want to get rid of Obamacare just because of the name?”
Babs continued: “He is a racist, xenophobic sexist who puts us all at risk with his behavior”. This was said by the woman who inspired “The Streisand Effect which, . . according to The Economist, . . occurs when “efforts to suppress a juicy piece of online information can backfire and end up making things worse for the would-be censor.”
. . . Dictionary definition of xenophobia: “deep-rooted fear towards foreigners” (Oxford English Dictionary; OED).
Not only did Trump marry TWO very foreign-born women, four of his five children have foreign born mothers. It’s clear Bab’s doesn’t know what she’ talking about. She’s a singer, not a political analyst, ….. that’s very obvious except to her.
Streisand should have showed America and the world how wonderful America is because of our almost unique ability to change the most powerful leader in the world every four or eight years and this year one very powerful man peacefully removed himself from power and another very powerful man stepped into his power and his place.
It’s up to each one of us,. . . Each and every American, to get together after each presidential election and work once again, not necessarily for a candidate who has become president but for America. Each of us owes that to each other.
Streisand should go to the White house, meet with Trump and help heal the deep divisions in America, starting with the stars and starlets of Hollywood. It’s how America should and could work.
America can do very well with Streisand opposing president Trump but Streisand will be much better if she shows us she is a bigger person than she has appeared to be during and after this election. She should move from a problem to a solution. America really is beautiful. Streisand should help keep it that way and lose the irrational hate that’s developed inside her mind.
