The SEPTA Fox Chase to Newtown line crosses the Neshaminy Creek in the dense woods near Village Shires. It’s missing some parts and it will either have to be repaired or replaced at a cost of up to $2 million bucks. Bucks County estimated the conversion from a railroad to a trail would cost $8 million but that assumed, wrongly, that the Neshaminy Bridge would be used without repair. That’s impossible. When the repairs or replacement is included the cost of the trail is approaching $10 million.

It would be better to use it as a road. It would save time for motorists because it runs at an angle to most of the roads and because there’s a bridge over Buck Road in Northampton it would help motorists and there are a lot more motorists than bicycle riders or walkers.
