No one knows.. It might have begun when non-existence changed into existence. That would require non-existence, essentially nothing, to stop so existence could begin. When did nothing stop? There’s no answer. No one knows. We do know however that existence exists. We cannot be certain that non-existence stopped because we hold no information about non-existence. Is it like dark matter? Is dark matter changing into matter? No one knows. We are on the way to finding out or at least we are learning about existence enough to ask more questions. That’s about where human knowledge is at the moment. What about the idea that everything is moving away from us? We may be moving in the same direction but going slower so all the rest seems to be going faster but we just don’t know what’s going on. Not yet. At least we know we don’t know. Known unknowns and all that. What about the unknown unknowns?
