Donald Trump only needs 502 more delegates of the 984 that are still available. Between Trump and Cruz, Trump gets 62% compared to Cruz’s 38% so Trump should get 62% of the remaining 984 which is 611 giving Trump 1,346 by the time the Republican National Convention is held July 18th in Cleveland. Trump only needs 1,237 so he should have 109 more delegates than he needs.
Cruz is rather unlikable. He turns off people especially because he’s combining his religion with his campaign. While that works well in Utah, an extremely religious state it and it works well with the Religious Wing of the Tea Parties that still remain, Cruz will not get enough delegates to win on the first round and Trump will have 109 more delegates than he needs to win the Republican Nomination on the first round.
