On December 15, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a symbolic resolution recognizing and commemorating Miles Davis’ album “Kind of Blue” on its 50th anniversary, “honoring the masterpiece and reaffirming jazz as a National Treasure”. The album is as fresh today as it was in 1959. They should have also honored the man.

The creation of Jazz is unique to America. It’s a poem to the black experience. It was created in the Southern United States but no where else. Why America?

Miles Davis is to music what water is to the ocean, he’s that important. He passed away in 1991 at age 65. He created so much music. He created so much. He created.

As with so many people, much of his greatness wasn’t appreciated. How great was Miles Davis? How great is a mind that can create? A mind that can create with sound? A mind that can create music?

In 1962 Miles was interviewed by Justin Erenkrantz HERE.It’s worth the read. Miles Davis. An erudite man. An amazing genius of a man. Everyone is better because of Miles.
