Kentucky Senator Rand Paul thinks, wrongly, that Donald Trumps popularity in the polls is due to a momentary “loss of sanity.” Really? Rand Paul thinks he knows better than the people at large but of course he doesn’t. He believes the voters “have lost their sanity”. In the vernacular that means: “the voters are crazy”. His sneering remark shows his mistaken patrician self-image which cannot know the mindset of the “little people” i.e., the voters because he knows better than everyone else. That’s a particular type of delusion; a delusion because of an inability to connect to reality.
Paul would be better to direct his statements to the problems extant in the land. That would be Hillary. Trump is not the problem for America. Hillary is.
But Rand Paul targets and disagrees with the “voters who have lost their sanity” because in his mind he is the best candidate to be the next President of the United States. His problem is his problematic personality, his persona which the voters use to select whom they prefer. His self-opinion doesn’t doesn’t match his low popularity among the voters.
Rand Paul told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer: “I think this is a temporary sort of loss of sanity, but we’re going to come back to our senses and look for someone serious to lead the country at some point”. Paul gets it wrong on three important points. Trump and the voters are very serious and in possession of their keen senses. Trump is a leader. Rand isn’t or isn’t strong enough to handle Trump.
Trumps popularity is practically invisible to insiders like Paul who are in Washington and part of the problem that caused the massive popularity of Trump. The people at large get it. Trump gets it but Rand Paul doesn’t. Rand Paul is living in some kind of jelly castle in Legoland where everything is make believe. He needs to wake up and get back to reality. He should drop out before he embarrasses himself even more.
