Most studies of intelligence focus on individuals or groups with high intelligence but since there are many individuals with low intelligence it is important to study what that means. It means exactly what it seems like it should mean. there are things that low intelligence individuals cannot do. It also throws the idea of equality into a cocked hat. Is low intelligence related to race? That’s not the issue. The issue is about low intelligence and what it means to an individual who has it. If poor performance is because of diet we can do something about it. If poor performance is due to a lack of intelligence then there is nothing that can be done because intelligence cannot be changed in any significant way during the lifetime of an individual. Giving money to the poor is not the same as giving money to people with low intellect. Giving money for the wrong reason means the expected change cannot happen. Hoping low intelligence individuals will be able to act the same as individuals with higher intelligence will not happen. Sending low intellect individuals to college where they will be unable to grasp the material leads to something worse than failure. It leads to the loss of self-respect and as such it is immoral to do it.
