Here’s the Inquirer photo from the Pro-Second Amendment Rally in Doylestown. http://articles.philly.com/2013-03-03/news/37412896_1_gun-rights-stricter-gun-laws-ar-15
Concerned Gun Owners of Bucks County organized the event. Here’s the address to the crowd:
“We are here to honor the Second Amendment and to commemorate the confidence shown in the people by the framers of the Constitution. The Second Amendment makes it the duty of government to protect the attributes of the individual. Each person is born free and government was given the responsibility to protect that freedom. The Second Amendment is especially important because the people must be armed to defend themselves and their freedoms.
The Founders knew the basis of liberty, our sacred guns.
“The Right to Keep and Bear Arms.”
We stand near the birthplaces of freedom, Washington’s Crossing. Independence hall.
Gettysburg. Places where weapons were used for liberty.
We are near ground zero 9-11
We stand here as patriots
We stand here where American heroes walked. At Washington’s crossing;
At Valley Forge.
We stand on the shoulders of American giants who stood up for liberty at Bunker Hill;
At Lexington, at Concord, at Normandy at Guadalcanal, at Iwo Jima.
We stand here armed and ready to stand against tyrants. This is serious. Liberty is not playing around.
We stand here ready to defend liberty.
This is America. We want freedom. We demand Liberty. We do not want seek advice. We want no compromise with evil. Feinstein and company can crouch down and lick the feet of Satan and may posterity forget you were Americans. We want liberty.
The jaws of power are always open to devour freedom.
America is very different now. We stand against an enemy within.
The same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue in America — the freedoms of the individual.
We want the Second Amendment. Whole. Entire. Without Equivocation.
We want to keep our arms.
We are the people of liberty
We stand against Satan’s spawn in Washington D.C.
We dare not forget that we are the heirs of that first revolution.
Paraphrasing JFK, Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch of freedom is being carried by American. The torch is being carried in Bucks County and the torch of liberty burns against tyranny today in Doylestown.
We are patriots.
Patriots — born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today in Bucks County and all over America.
Let every elected official know, whether they wish us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
We stand here. We pledge to defend liberty.
We pledge to defend the Constitution.
We pledge to defend the Second Amendment.
And we will elect a sheriff in Bucks County who will help in the struggle.
We have someone ready to do something besides talk about freedom.
Tom Lingenfelter. Tom is willing to run for Bucks County Sheriff. Tom knows the value of the Second Amendment and he will support it without pre-condition, without equivocation and with every breath he takes.
Stand up for liberty, sign the petition to get Tom Lingenfelter on the ballot and show up for the Pizza on Saturday, March 9th at the Villa Capri restaurant on E. Court Street in Doylestown between 12 Noon and 2 PM.
