She said she wanted to be known as an enemy of religion and she introduced a rather complete set of philosophical principles which she called: “Objectivism”.
Philosophy is sort of really, really hard for most people so Ayn Rand wrote her entire philosophy in a novel called: “Atlas Shrugged”.
Her philosophy is in a rather long and very detailed speech by the hero of Atlas named John Galt but Rand did not label her philosophy within the speech or for yers afterwords. Her philosophy is: “OBJECTIVISM”. .
It’s hard going to get through Atlas Shrugged because it contains deep arguments. A sort of summary of the arguments is in a part of the book called John Galt’s speech.
Galt’s speech is hard going but it has a complete replacement moral code for people. It’s hard because there are scads and scads of original thinking in the speech. Most people cannot get through it. It’s not hard to read but it is hard to understand because it goes against the moral code of every religion.
Another dissertation against Religion is a presentation by John Ridpath who became a PhD called “Religion vs. Man.” His presentation is far shorter and more pointed because it validates only the religious part of Galt’s speech but it is part of Ayn Rand’s philosophy.
These writings are against the mainstream of thought. They oppose both Plato and Aristotle and are far more complete but they are not for everybody because of many reasons. Some people cannot produce the deep thought needed to understand Rand. Her writing is very clear. She does not use big words but she does use big concepts.
Most people can’t use concepts because they are unable to think in the depth of Rand’s ideas. But Rand is correct. Her writings and lectures are, both fortunately and unfortunately really, really deep so they cannot be understood by most people. That’s because religion has had an open field for millinea. No more.
Religion has been exposed almost single-handedly by Ayn Rand. If you are religious be warned; your basic belief’s have been attacked and exposed by a Russian born woman.
The truth is available.
It may not be for you.
It may not be workable within your culture but it is available so it’s up to you to find it.
