Almost everyone loves babies but even Mother Nature sometimes must abort a pregnancy. There’s even a medical name for it. Most people call it a spontaneous abortion. The Catholic Church may not approve it but that doesn’t stop it. Sometimes, rather rare, but sometimes a pregnancy goes awry and it has to end. Unfortunately, very rarely these days but it happens that a pregnancy is fatal to a pregnant woman so sometimes abortion is not only a natural thing but it saves the life of a woman. The civilized world understands and recognizes those instances.
But there is more to abortion. Women can become temporarily insane during a pregnancy. Medical doctors and psychologists know that and there are medications and treatments to help treat the horrible effects of a pregnancy on a normal woman who is driven into insanity by a pregnancy. The worst case is when a pregnant woman commits suicide rather than continue on. We can hope and wish all we want but reality has to be faced. Abortion is usually an unfortunate option. Sometimes it is a necessary option and removing that option can be fatal to the pregnant woman. This is serious stuff!…. This is not playing around and people who think there can be an accommodation with rabid misogynistic anti-life individuals who oppose all forms of abortion are completely wrong. There is no accommodating people who oppose abortion when there is evidence that nature and natures God include it in their universe. The correct, civilized approach is to recognize the need for often unhappy decisions; keep politics out of the debates until it’s settled and continue to study the issue; desperately try to understand it and come to a conclusion that is correct. In the present, heated debates continue. Trump completely overturned Roe v Wade by appointing three anti-Choice Justices to the Supreme court. and instead of trying to grasp a solution they turned it over to the states where it will fester and linger and continue to divide us. There will be a myriad of conflicting conclusions so the debate will continue and in the meantime there are desperate pregnant woman who need a clear answer. Tragically, there is none.
