Boil some water and pour it over your cold windshield. That should crack it but because car glass is safety glass meaning it has a plastic center between two pieces of glass it won’t shatter into a lot of little pieces like plain or regular glass does. It will crack but it won’t come apart. That’s a real advantage because the little pieces of broken glass don’t go flying all over when the windshield cracks. We were going over the Churchville Reservoir which is a narrow two land road with no shoulders when a large Canadian Goose flew into the windshield, cracked it all up and made it into the car through the windshield where it landed on my wife’s lap. It was dead, of course because it was flying about 40 miles and hour and we were going about that fast too so it hit like it was going about 80 miles and hour. Boom! And it slid into the car and the windshield was cracked into lots of little pieces so I had to roll the drivers window down and sick my head out to see and drive off the little road where we got the dead goose out of the car. Debbie’s mother Dot said she saw the goose and said it “Looked like a fuckin’ eagle”.
