Glenn Loury has achieved deserved accolades writing about blacks in America. He’s black and I’m white so we’re are different however, I learned about blacks from without, just as Loury probably learned about whites. Loury seems to miss the essence of blacks, misses out on their nature. One can wrote about behaviors and causes as Loury does and he gets it about the criminal pathology of black criminals. He doesn’t write of the cause. Blacks aren’t born criminals. Black criminals can change but not if they are pathological; not too easily at best. America is in need of a race solution regarding Loury’s pathological criminal blacks but so far as I can see he has none. I do but not in detail. The solution is rather simple. Don’t stop trying to non-criminally pathologize black youth. The tree grows as the twig is bent. Teach correct values and virtues to black youth. Loury has the outline of a solution. He knows Blacks have to do this themselves. Perhaps whites can help but there seems to be insufficient trust within the black culture for whites to be much help. What virtues? What values? Some pretty basic ones. Start with the nature of black people. Teach honesty first. That means obey the law. Productiveness. Earn your daily bread yourself. Be properly proud of your abilities and achievements. How can whites help? By practicing justice. Help if asked. Step aside so the achievers can flourish on their own. Leave them alone to grow. This isn’t hard stuff but it is important and necessary.
