A report that there is or is not a genocide does not mean there is or is not a genocide. Genocide: violence against individuals because they are members of a certain group. It aims to destroy a people. Southern Africa including The Republic of South Africa has people who have been trying to rid Southern Africa, indeed, trying to rid all of Africa,  of white people especially Afrikaners, the present day descendants of the original group of white people from the Netherlands.

Having been to and enjoying South Africa on a number of occasions and knowing more about it’s history than most of the current reporters I have a different set of conclusions that are seriously at odds with the current zeitgeist. South Africans are no different than other groups who have love and hate ideas about certain groups. the difference is there are times when it’s possible to murder your opponents such as when they are far from other people. A small group of activists can and have easily take over a farms by killing the occupants and moving in. No one can support that because it’s atrocious yet it has both perpetrators and supporters.

The issue came to the forefront of the news when South African president Cyril Ramaphosa travelled to America and had a visit with president Trump who voiced concerns after having invited about 60 (white) Afrikaners to America because of the hate and danger to them in South Africa. Nothing was settled; no progress was announces an no further action seems to be available from either side at the moment but thing can change with Trump so keep tuned. This is no where near being settled.
