If someone is responsible to use the preferred pronoun for someone else then that someone else can be responsible to use the preferred pronouns of the culture. Boys will be boys has a specific meaning. Individuals who are sexually dis-functional can demand they be called by a preferred pronoun and whoever is demanded can counter-demand the demander use the cultural pronoun.
