Less friction than any other type of pen. While there are a load of really great pens available and while I have at least a few representative of each type and while I enjoy each and all of them, fountain pens are the best for me. The best writing fountain pen in the collection is a LAMY 2000. The oldest are Gold Cross pens and pencils. The gold feels wonderful in hand and they have given me a lot of writing pleasure over the years. Back in the 70’s I had two extra long gold Cross pens on the large executive desk at Yale. I enjoy writing with pencils too. The favorites are the 0.5 mm diameter leads and recently I aquired a 0.3mm which is also great to use. What is my favorite pen or pencil? I do not have a favorite.
