There are thousands of pens available. Fountain pens came along and replaced dip pens. Then came ball point pens that didn’t have to be refilled and kept on writing far longer than a fountain pen. Felt tip pens then harder felt tips then roller ball pens and finally gel pens. All have their advantages but a fountain pen requires less energy to write and they are mo favorite. My collection includes all types and is about 100 pens. A Marlen fountain pen made in Italy is my current favorite but I also enjoy the Pelikan pens, the Montblanc fountain pens, the Cross fountain pens and several fountain pens that I made myself using exotic woods and plastics. An inventor in Philadelphia makes Schon DSGN fountain pens which use a unique shaped titanium nib that he calls a Monoc which cost $400. HERE. It’s a wonderful fountain pen.
I enjoy using all of the above.
