Easy to say, of course but there are reasons it’s impossible for someone to just run away from a bad relationship.
Courthen Irby’s car had been rammed by her husband Joseph Irby. She was frightened of him and he had guns. She wanted to lessen the danger to herself and their children so she grabbed his guns and took them to the police where she was arrested and sentenced to jail. Seems wrong but that’s what happened. She’s out and presumebly he has his guns. Not a good situation for her to be in.
