Born in 1905 in Saint Petersburg before the Communists came to power in Russia, Ayn Rand lived for 77 years. In those short years whe wrote two tremendous novels, the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged; numerous short articles; two lesser novels, Anthem and We, the Living and developed Objectivism, a philosophy. She is less known for her philosophy. That’s where her shear brilliance comes across. Most people have a philosophy based in spirituality, faith and socialism even when they claim to stand for Capitalism. Rand’s philosophy, Objectivism, is proven by the world we actually live in but which most people deny which is where her brilliance lies.
