April 16, 2026… The Trump administration canceled an $11 million federal contract with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami. Federal support for Catholic institutions in the U.S. is extensive, primarily through grants for social services, education, and humanitarian aid. Major funding goes to Catholic Charities for refugee resettlement and migrant care, and to the USCCB was over $134 Million in 2023. It’s down to $123 million now.
