Who is Fred Reed? He’a an American who lives in Mexico and loves it. He tells us to get used to the millions of Latinos in America. OK. That’s his political advice. To him I say support Americans living in Mexico but Americans don’t want to follow Fred into Mexico. It’s a one-way-street for people like Fred. BTW. Fred lost me as an admirer when he started to trash Trump.
Reality is hard for some to grasp. Fred wan’s to instruct white people in America to get used to the Latinos. My beef is he studies the situation from one side. the other side is what it means to the non-Latinos in America.
Fred has been too long in Mexico. He’s no outside looking in. Here’s what it looks like from the inside. While Fred encourages more Latinos to come to America whats going on in Mexico that makes people want to leave? What’s wrong with Mexico?
Fred makes the point that Mexicans can do things like the standard technological infrastructure of airlines, telecommunications and hospitals, on and on. but he doesn’t take on the problem of why so many Latinos doesn’t want to live in Mexico. To repeat. Fred likes to portray American’s as villians but he won’t take on the problems in Mexico as well as in the other Central and SOuth American countries that makes them such failures that their people want to leave and come to America.
Who is responsible to fix Mexico? It’s not Fred. he want’s to live there but he makes his case that America should accept the Latinos. Why doesn’t he see his blind spot about making his new homeland better for the homies instead of making it easier to escape to America.
Fred is like a lot of people. He’s against President Trump and against America but he contradicts himself by telling us we need to support outsiders like him and his friends who don’t much like us. His problem is he’s just flat wrong. If America is so bad, why did 50 million Latino’s leave Mexico and come here? And why don’t Americans want to leave what to him is an awful place and go live in Mexico? Maybe he’s doesn’t really like Latinos. No. He’s just mixed up. Too much sun on the head.
But he can’t get all this. There are hopeless people.
Oh well.
