Prices for boats that can actually sail around the world range from $45,000 on up past $1,000,000. To sail around the world takes a load of time. At a minimum, probaly about 90 days with a good boat and a good crew on up to three to ten years, depending on how you go, where you stop and how long you stay at each place. It can be a once in a lifetime experience or a set of voyages with a lot if stops at a lot of great places as you go. Go if you can. Not many people can actually sail around the world and if you want to just go around the world you can do it by flying with a minimum of stops. My advice is to just do it. How big of a sailboat do you need to sail around the world? That depends on how much of a sailor you are. A sailing friend of mine would do it on a 30 foot saiboat. Most people would want something substanbtially larger and for some people there’s no such thing as too big of a boat. In the middle of the ocean with some big waves goin on a 60 foot boat seems too small.

You can go from America to Europe, to India, Singapore, Hong Kong and home or take a much longer time and go to South America, Africa, Australia, Russia and China. It’s a big, big world with a lot to offer the curious. Is it worth it? That depends on you. Some people, like my friend Joe could not be happy anywhere. For them it’s not worth going anywhere unless it’s close, fast to get to and cheap to stay there. For people like me and those in our family, every different place is a different set of advnetures from the local sights to the local food to the local people. Each and all are as different as fingerprints. The same place in a different season is completely different. Like Atlantic City. On the beach in the summer and into the hotels and casino’s in the fall, winter and spring. From The Borgata to the beach, it’s full of good times and adventures. OK. It’s not for everyone. For those who can accomodate the changes it’s a great set of adventures. OTOH you can walk around South Philly and have a load of fun. Or.. Get to Manhattan. The restaurant scene alone is worth the effort. Or.. Walk around Cantral Park. Sit on a bench an watch the passing parade of people. Some with a lot of time, other’s in a big hurray. A favorite place is Paris. Also Vienna. Also Ireland but these places aren'[t for everybody. They drive on the other side in a lot of places. That’s not a major concern and there are taxi’s, busses, trains and planes to scoot about. If however you decide to play couch monkey and watch the TV that’s fine too. Life is good if you want it to be. Yes, there are some moments and events that are tragedies but on the whole it’s great here Remember: I am;.. I think;… I will.. That gets you really far so go for it. It’s not the spectator who lives well.. It’s the person in the arena.
